Press release:
Motto: Keeping tight
Clamping rings "FL-Extra G" with quick release catch
for stainless steel pipe connections
Tübingen, 24. April 2007. When gases, liquids, or bulk goods
are being transported through pipes, then clamping rings of the Tübinger
stainless steel processor LINNEMANN keep the flange connections tight.
The clamping rings "FL-Extra G" are applicable for working
pressures from 4 up to 7 bar depending on the sizes. The working
pressures are effective with temperatures up to 121 °C.
The rings are usable for clamp connections according to DIN
32676, ISO 2852, DIN 11864-3, DIN 11853-3, FLY clamp connections and
customer-specific special designs. They consist of stainless steel
AISI 304 and have mechanically polished surfaces. For flange sizes Ø
50,5 mm up to Ø 233,5 mm are nine different clamping ring sizes from
DN 25-40 to DN 200 available. The clamping rings can be provided from
stock on short notice.
Each clamping ring has two halves, a double hinge and a quick
release catch. Hinge and quick release catch are positioned opposite
each other. Looked at in cross-section the halves have a V-groove.
They are manufactured by lost- wax casting; this allows high accuracy
in the execution. The halves are connected with each other by a
mounting link of the double hinge. The mounting link is seated in
slots of the halves in such way that they not protrude the outlines.
The quick release catch has a lock screw and a nut. The lock
screw is pivoting mounted on a bolt of one of the halves. The nut is
formed as a wing nut with finger troughs for direct actuation by hand.
The wing nut has an integrated hexagon for the optionally application
of a jaw wrench. The thread of the lock screw disappears completely
inside the firmly tightened wing nut. A plastic cap covers the inside
thread, so that it is as protected against contamination as the
lock screw. For sizes DN 125 up to DN 200 a toggle nut is provided.
LINNEMANN offers alternatively for all sizes of the clamping ring
"FL- Extra G" a pure hexagon nut, so that the catch can only
be actuated with a jaw wrench.
On assembly of a pipe connection the clamping ring encloses
the flanges, which are to be coupled; thereby the outer edges of the
flanges engage in the V-groove of the halves. Then the lock screw is
pivoted into the closing position. By seizing the nut the flanges are
co-axially pressed against each other, so that a tight pipe connection
is formed.
The LINNEMANN clamping rings "FL-Extra G" prove of
value especially in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and
chemical industry as well as in the biotechnology, filter and water
processing technique.
The LINNEMANN GmbH was founded in 1981 and is since then concerned
with the development and manufacturing of high–grade pipe
connections and fittings of stainless steel. The range of products
comprises more than 12.000 articles, which are shown in detail in a
printed catalogue and under www.linnemann-online.com.
